Film Opening Brainstorm
Notes:
Since I am working alone, my brainstorming process is much less collaborative or extensive than other groups. Overall, what I want out of my film opening is a scene that evokes the mystery dynamic immediately, but not through the lens of a detective. Instead, the main character should be a very relatable character who does not have expertise in solving crimes or puzzles.
- Opening Credits will include title, director, editor, actors, and music contribution.
- Director, editor, and possibly actor will be me.
- if possible, it would be cool if I could get the credits to fade away into smoke
- The theme is mystery, so the music should be ominous, but not in a horror way
- Main character/protagonist/mystery-solver will appear first and the actor's name will be first
- Colors are much more subdued
- Backlighting/lowlight
- Bit of confusion
- The audience needs to establish a relationship/connection to the protagonist
