How many titles are displayed during the opening sequences to the film?
Begins with the title of the movie, followed by the setting and date,
What images are prioritized in the opening sequence?
A high angle shot of the Western Wall is first shown and then the image of Detective Poirot meticulously inspecting his breakfast of two eggs.
What connotations do the images carry?
The first shows where the scene is taking place and the historical and cultural value of it. The second shows Poirot's nature of being able to spot any discontinuities and also his OCD-like behavior.
How is genre reinforced through symbolic and technical codes from the outset?
By beginning with a high angle shot and then a follow shot of the little boy, the ominous and curious nature of the mystery genre is seen.

How does the film establish an enigma from the outset?
The excitable music accompanied by the frantic running of the little boy creates an atmosphere of excitable suspense, which adds to the mystery of the film.
What strategies are used to ensure the film appeals to its target audience?
The beginning of the opening scene seems to have nothing to do with solving a mystery, which actually keeps viewers in suspense of what's to happen. Then shortly after, a mini-crisis ensues where a painting is stolen, but promptly solved by the protagonist, reaffirming the skills of the protagonist.
How has technology been used effectively?
I believe a drone was used to capture a few of the angles, which allows for more spectacular angles and views. The camera quality is also very sharp and clear.
